Anything, Something and Everything
A long-limbed figure sits on the horizon line itself, one arm raised, head bowed, half in a pink sky and half in violet water. Beneath the surface, fine ink drawing runs everywhere — small boats, creatures, a whole second world sketched in line rather than paint. Three feet square. Duong has said there is always a story hidden behind the eyes, and here the story is literally underneath: the paint holds the figure, the drawing holds everything she is thinking.
