Morning
A woman in a pale robe stands at a washstand with a jug and basin, seen from behind and slightly to one side, the room warm and loose around her. Twenty by sixteen. A domestic subject with a long history in painting, and she gives it no sentiment at all — the figure is doing something ordinary and is not aware of us.
