Artwork
Live By The Current
A tall narrow panel — twenty-four by twelve — of seagrass and coral forms rising through blue water, the stems bending as if in flow. The vertical format does the work: everything in the picture is reaching upward and there is no horizon to stop it. Ferron's under-seascapes use the same cut-paper method as her gardens, and the plants behave the same way; only the medium they stand in changes.
